Our Youth Work Skills programme is for anyone working in the Voluntary Sector with children and young people. 

 
As mentioned in the title, the programme is about developing an individual's youth work skills, therefore those fresh to a youth work setting, volunteers, senior helpers (19+) and newly appointed paid youth workers are welcome to enrol on to the programme. 
 
The course is made up of a number of themed areas. A few are listed below.
 
• Safeguarding
• Advanced Safeguarding – ‘Top Up’ training for Designated Officers                   
• Online safety
• Basic Youth Work Skills
• Youth Organisation Leadership
• Child Development
• Volunteer Right, Roles and Responsibilities (VRRR)
• Dealing with Aggressive Behaviour
• Equality and Diversity      
• Young People and the Law
• Identifying Risks Through Behaviour
 
Our new ‘Sustain’ project has five dedicated workers that will support youth organisations in different areas.

The Youth Federation’s SUSTAIN comprises of three themes

• Youth Organisation support

• Training

• Third sector leadership development
