Action For Blind People

Description

Whether you have just been diagnosed or have a long-term eye condition we offer a range of services to help with living with sight loss.

Living with sight loss

From our community based courses to our local team of advisers, we provide information, advice, support and practical solutions to independent living with sight loss.

Children, young people & families

Our children, young people and family service provides a wide range of opportunities for blind and partially sighted children, young people and their families, including:

  • day activites
  • Actionnaires multi-activity clubs (for 4-16 year olds)
  • Action Activity Breaks (for 8-16 year olds; formally known as Vacation Schemes)
  • a transitions service specifically for young people aged 14–25.

We would like to encourage greater social inclusion for visually impaired children and young people, providing the opportunity for everyone to enjoy full and active lives. We aim to support family members of blind and partially sighted children and young people and help people connect with their peers.

Resource Centres

At our resource centres you can buy products and find out information relating to living with a visual impairment. We offer advice, information and product demonstrations. You can just drop in – no need to book an appointment!

Vision Hotels

At Vision Hotels, the intimate understanding of the needs of visually impaired people is at the core of all of the services and activities that our hotels provide, creating the perfect foundation to enable visually impaired hotel visitors to relax and have choice, to tailor their holiday around what they want to do and not what they are able to do.
