The Wingate Centre

Description

The Wingate Special Children's Trust is an independent charity, established in 1988, devoted to enriching the lives of children and young adults with all levels of physical and learning disability or who are disadvantaged.

Since its formation, the Wingate Centre has developed into two distinct but mutually beneficial fields of expertise. Firstly, it is a specialist short break residential centre for special needs schools, voluntary groups such as PHAB, SENSE and for family support groups. The centre can cater for groups from 8-50 with a whole range of disabilities from profound and multiple to autistic spectrum and challenging behaviour.  Secondly, the Wingate Centre offers sport and recreational opportunities to children and young people of all abilities as day guests, either individually, in groups or at our All Stars after school sports club.  Our Gym Coaches work with clients to devise a programme of activities that encourages them to keep active, develop new skills and have fun.

At the Wingate Centre, everyone is able.
