Community Paediatrics

Description

Our service is a secondary service. Acute and Community paediatricians are specialist children’s doctors with training and expertise in developmental paediatrics and disability and social paediatrics (child protection). The community paediatric team completes Initial Health Assessments (medical assessment) for Looked After Children (LAC).

Services for Pre-School Children
Children are referred to our service for assessment of their development where there is a concern regarding the possibility of developmental delay or concerns regarding behaviour. We liaise very closely with agencies such as the Early Years SEND Outreach Service (EYSOS) and the Child Development Service. We work closely with other agencies within a multidisciplinary team.
