Infection Prevention and Control Team


Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT) provides Infection Prevention and Control services and a specialist TB service within the Cheshire East area, to schools and healthcare providers (including Care Homes, General Practices and Dental Practices) belonging to East and South Cheshire CCGs.

We provide training, infection prevention link worker education/meetings, outbreak management and can undertake audits for GPs, Care Homes and Dentists.

The TB nursing service provides services to the general public, acute health services, GPs, health visitors, school nursing service, looked after children services, when needed to schools, health care providers belonging to East and South Cheshire CCG. Additionally, this service provides on-going nursing care to patients being treated for TB, whilst working to control and prevent TB through contact tracing, awareness raising and immunisation. Training can also be provided for health care professionals and other groups and provides information to regional audits on TB outcomes.

The Infection Prevention & Control Team support health care providers to attain and sustain high quality Infection Prevention practices, which provides evidence of compliance to the Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards.
