The Neuromuscular Centre (NMC)

Description

The Neuromuscular Centre is the Centre of Excellence for people with muscular dystrophy and provides a variety of services including support through transition, training, sheltered employment, physiotherapy, and emotional support for all those in the region affected by muscular dystrophy and associated conditions. Our service is open to people that have Muscular Dystrophy or are a carer or family member of someone with the condition. For physiotherapy assessments, individuals need a referral from a consultant or GP, however for information, transition support, training and employment potential clients are invited to get in touch directly.

NMC also offers training in art and graphic design and job opportunities in its social enterprise NMC Design+Print.

Taster sessions for any of the courses are always offered to see whether it really meets your needs.

Short Breaks during school holidays are available; please contact for further information. Summer breaks include accessible sports such as powered chair football, boccia and stunt car racing. Bushcraft days include pond dipping, woodcrafts and campfire cooking.

NMC also has its own powered chair football team, the NMC Titans, who are affiliated and working towards competing in the WFA's league.
