Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy Service

Description

The Speech and Language Therapy Service for children/young people aims to provide high quality specialist assessment and evidenced based interventions for children and young people with a range of speech, language, communication difficulties and/or dysphagia (swallowing). The Speech and Language Therapy Service works in partnership with children/young people and their families and with other professionals and agencies to prevent or reduce the impact of these often isolating difficulties on children’s health and well being, educational attainment and their ability to participate in daily life.

The Service will be available to children and young people who have speech, language and communication needs and/or dysphagia from birth up to and including 16 years and up to and including 19 years in certain circumstances (e.g. young people with complex needs and attending special schools).
