Description

Visyon is a mental health charity that supports local children and young people when they need it most.

Visyon offers a variety of services to promote positive mental health and wellbeing. Services include: creative and therapeutic groups, one-to-one therapy, advocacy support, support in schools, mentoring, family support and parent empower hour.

The interventions we provide have a huge beneficial impact on the individuals and their families and enable them to better achieve their potential in society. Visyon provides innovative, flexible and dynamic services in order to meet the changing needs of children, young people and their parents. 
 
The services we provide include free face-to-face counselling at the Visyon premises, in high schools and in community and rural locations; therapeutic play for individual children at primary school age; group therapy activities using creative arts; themed workshops for professionals working with young people; support for young people who have opted out of or have been excluded from education; crisis intervention to partner organisations following a major incident (e.g. sudden death or suicide); short term work with parents of adolescents, with the offer of eight free counselling sessions to help them support and understand their children; filial play coaching sessions for parent and child, helping to improve relationships; a multi-systemic therapy programme; and family support work.
